Hey there! My name is Mike and this is my wife Krissy. We live in sunny Southern California. Although I have wanted to live in Oregon all my life, I have to admit that the weather here is just about perfect. Just like this picture of us in Big Sur, CA.

My love for Oregon started at an early age. My adopted parents were from the Portland area, and we took a yearly road trip to visit with family. I loved everything about it! The smells of the farm, the rain and trees. Even today when I get a scent that even slightly resembles these things, I'm filled with pleasure. The things that shape who a person becomes are all those little events in life which we learn from. These trips were experiences that helped create who I am today.

These trips continue even now with my own daughter. We love to camp and shop all through the state of Oregon. The time spent with her on these trips have helped create that special bond that we have.

My love for the outdoors originated with these trips, along with many other camping and fishing trips with my dad. You can find more about the things we like to do in the section labeled 'Outside'.

Growing up in SoCal during the 70's exposed me to the wonderful world of VW's. My brother had a Squareback and my sister had a Superbeetle. I still remember all those trips to the beach in that little orange Bug. We must have sung along to "My Sharona" by the Knack a hundred times. A VW Scirrocco was my first car and I have collected VW's ever since. You can read more about them in my 'Garage'.

Some of our time is spent helping children. One way we do this is through our motorcycle club. The NorwalkCentaurs M/C hosts a charity camping event to raise donations exclusively to help children in need. I also work in a middle school special education classroom.
